โ๏ธ Learning about weight and measures โ๏ธ
Miss McKenna’s class have been learning about non-standard units of measurement. Non-standard units are things we use to measure that aren’t rulers or measuring tapes, like blocks or cubes.
The children had lots of fun comparing the sizes of different objects by using cubes to measure animals and other things. Learning about non-standard units helps kids understand how measuring works before using regular tools, and it makes measuring fun and easy to practice! ๐
The children used cubes to weigh classroom objects. They took it in turns to add cubes to the weighing scales until the two sides balanced. Children then used comparative language to say which object was the heaviest and the lightest. โโ๐๐
Well done everyone! ๐
